For the History Buffs



So history is your thing? Nebraska is home to plenty, including that of the Native American tribes that occupied the land.

The best place to see artifacts from the area?

The Agate Fossil Bed Monument


The Agate Fossil Bed Monument is located in Northwest Nebraska, 22 miles from the city of Harrison. Not only does Agate offer a museum full of Native American artifacts, it also offers quarries of mammal fossils.


More interested in technological history?

How about one of the several railroad museums located throughout the state?


There you can learn more about the importance of the railroads in Nebraska's history, or the Transcontinental Railroad, which originally ran through Nebraska.
